The Role

We are looking for a multi-talented Web Designer who has a strong understanding of user experience and user interface principles, and a strong understanding of front-end web development and responsive frameworks and concepts.

You will work closely with the development team to determine how to build the best visual design and user experiences for our customers.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Web Designer at Veritas includes tasks such as:

  • Give expert design advice on new projects during discovery and planning phases
  • Wireframe, design and develop user experiences
  • Collaborate with technical team members to apply the design to web projects
  • Identify and implement improvements for our current projects
  • Occasionally create print-ready graphic design pieces such as brochures, posters etc.
  • Code and test HTML responsive emails that display correctly in common email clients

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in web design, or related field

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of design tools (such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and code editor of choice
  • UX, UI and visual design concepts
  • Experience building responsive websites
  • Experience with CSS Frameworks (Foundation, Bootstrap)
  • HTML5, SCSS/CSS, Javascript, Bonus points: Angular
  • Search Engine Optimisation
  • Git and Atlassian Stack
